Second District Supervisor Paul Biane was elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in November 2002 after eight years of service as a Rancho Cucamonga City Councilman.

Supervisor Biane currently serves as Vice President of SANBAG, San Bernardino Associated Governments, which is the County’s transportation authority, responsible for the development and funding of transportation projects throughout the county of San Bernardino.

Supervisor Biane is also the County’s representative on the governing board of SCAG, the Southern California Association of Governments, which is the metropolitan planning organization for six Southern California counties.

Despite painful cuts to the County budget due to the state deficit, Supervisor Biane is dedicated to maintaining services to residents of the Second District and meeting the new challenges facing county government. The Bark Beetle Emergency Mitigation Plan to reduce the danger of catastrophic fire in our mountain communities and the adoption of the “Best Run County” plan to improve customer services are examples of his efforts.

Supervisor Biane has expanded community outreach by initiating successful programs like a recent health fair where 2400 residents were able to receive free optical, dental and medical health screenings. He also developed a grant-writing workshop to assist non-profit community organizations in meeting their goals.

Supervisor Biane was instrumental in making it possible to bring a second NASCAR race to the California Speedway, along with the additional economic benefits that accompany this premiere sporting event.

Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors, he worked in the private sector with NAI Capitol Commercial Real Estate Services where he applied his extensive experience in finance and real estate. He also served as President of the Inland Empire League of Cities from 1998 to 1999, and was a Board Member on the California Cities Home Ownership Authority.

Supervisor Biane is a 6th generation Inland Empire resident, growing up in Alta Loma. He attended local schools, graduating from Damien High School before going to the University of San Diego, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1987. He lives in Rancho Cucamonga at the historic Biane Winery with his wife Lea, daughter Bella and son Philo.
